Sequel just announced big news for people living with type 1 diabetes: Its twiist™ automated insulin delivery (AID) system will work with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor.
The twiist™ AID System, powered by Tidepool and approved for use by people ages 6 and up living with type 1 diabetes, is expected to launch in the U.S. in Q2 2025.
What is the twiist AID System?
- The twiist™ AID System is a hybrid closed loop insulin delivery system designed to help people with type 1 diabetes.
- It also has advanced technology to alert you to insulin flow blockages up to nine times faster than other insulin pumps.
- The system includes iiSureTM Technology, which has four built-in checkpoints to ensure accurate insulin delivery.
- This added layer of protection gives you confidence that your insulin doses are being delivered as expected.
How the Abbott FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor makes it all possible
- Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) that tracks your blood sugar levels in real time.
- Now, it will work with twiist™ to automatically adjust your insulin delivery based on your glucose readings.
- All AID systems, like twiist™ , help minimize highs and lows, offering a personalized diabetes management approach.
The lowest cost AID out there
- You can try twiist™ for $0 the first month and no more than $50 per month after that, with no long-term commitment.
When can you get the twiist AID system?
The twiist™ AID system is expected to launch in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2025.
